In A Nutshell
It is difficult to be a genius, other people believe that you are a superhuman and have no problems. However, it is wrong. Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are these two geniuses, who are the top students of the Shuchiin Academy. They both become members of the student council and develop feeling for each other; yet, neither is willing to admit them. Kaguya-sama: Love is War is a love story of Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane; whoever makes a declaration of love first- loses ‘the war’.
More About Storyline
Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 is a comedic anime with a romantic grain, which was created by A-1 Pictures. The second season consists of twelve episodes and the storyline is based on the manga with the same name, which was written and illustrated by Akasaka Aka. The story, as always, focuses on the Shuchiin Academy, which is famous for one simple fact, it is one of the most prestigious schools for the kids of diplomats, ministers and multibillionaires. Of course, you will need to be someone important to be a part of the Shuchiin Academy’s Student Council to control any of these kids. The Vice President of the Shuchiin Academy’s Student Council is Kaguya Shinomiya and the President is Miyuki Shirogane. The first is the heiress of one of the richest families in Japan, a sophisticated and talented girl. The second came from a simple family, a silent guy with a heavy look, who built authority and respect thanks to his intellect and excellent academic achievements. Only the two are able to stand above the best of the best! What is more, they are in love with each other, but neither of them wants to admit it first. That is understandable; after all, a confession is compared to a defeat, which they cannot allow at any cost. Therefore, they will do their best to force the opponent to make the first step and make a declaration of love.
A-1 Pictures Always Spoils Their Fans (And We Love Them For That)
I adore A-1 Pictures, they are always confident in what they are trying to achieve and I respect them for that. Most of the time all of their creations are worthy and deliver that entertainment we are trying to find in the anime series. Yes, sometimes some of their works are not that good, however, I am sure that the graphics of the anime produced by A-1 Pictures will always be at a the highest possible level; I am grateful to the artists of A-1 Pictures studio for their work - they are very cool. Of course, Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 is no exception to that rule: the visual component of this series turned out to be an eye candy. Attention has been paid to every single small detail: character designs, background, camera angles; every single thing has been taken into consideration for the viewer to enjoy the show.
Amazing Voice Acting
Sound wise, the OST is simply amazing. It never is annoying and only helps you to enjoy the series even more. Be it as it may, the OST is, of course, good. But the best thing about the sound is, indeed, voice acting, which is amazing in this series. It is obvious from the very first seconds of you seeing the first episode of the first season, the Japanese voice actors did put their very soul in this series-- that is one of the reasons why this series is that good.
Characters
Now, finally, I will touch upon the best thing about this series -- the characters. As it has been stated in my review, the main focus of this series is the two protagonists, who have feelings for each other, but do not want to admit it. But this would be just boring-- a series that is only good because of the two characters. And such way of thinking would be wrong. The new season introduces more characters and pays more than enough attention even to the supporting characters, who are as interesting as the two protagonists. But the best part about characters is amazingly well-written dialogues. They are that good that you would never want to skip even a single second of them, when watching them, it is more than obvious that the author did try to make the dialogues that interesting to follow and that it is why I adore this series.
Criticism
There is nothing I can criticize this series for. As a romantic comedy it is one of the best series I have ever seen. It is so well-written that you do not want to breathe to skip even a second of the dialogues
Overall
All in all, with first-rate comedy, endearing characters, sharp visuals, and attractive animation, Kaguya-sama: Love is War is back. The second season introduces even more characters, helping the viewer appreciate the series even more. If you still have not seen the first season, for some reason, and are a fan of great romantic comedies, do give a try to the first season and watch the second season now, it is worth every single second of your free time.
